Home of the First Christmas Tree - Riga Tree in Riga Latvia

-
Historically, we have experienced from 16,200 to 19,000 visitors to the site during the thirty (30) day period from 29 November to 29 December. The visitors in 2009 were from 136 different countries. The majority were from North America (about 50%) followed by European countries (about 40%) - including the UK (about 10%).

As this is the 500th year anniversary, we expect considerably higher interest including print and internet news coverage and resulting in an expected 20% to 30% increase in visitor traffic.

Therefore, we believe this is an excellent advertising opportunity and we have priced our offering at a very modest and reasonable level. It is our desire to begin a long term and expanding relationship with our advertisers.

When searching for the historical beginning of the first Christmas tree, one must go very deep into the past. Just like Santa Claus one finds that the first Christmas tree was combination of many different facts, legends and customs. The first documented use of a tree in a winter Christmas celebration was in several locations in Northern Europe including Estonia, and Latvia, in the year 1510 according to documents from the Blackheads Fraternity chronicles and from various sources in Germany. No one know for certain who lays claim to the first Christmas tree but few dispute that it was in the area which is now Northern Europe. Come and experience the 500th anniversary of this historic tradition.
